  • ramblings of a deranged person

feel like i haven't written on here in a while, so thought i'd better catch up.
if i'm honest, been pretty down lately-why do people feel like it's a neccessity to make someone feel as small and insignificant as humanly possible? haven't had this low a self confidence in a long while=(
hoping things are gonna look up....

on the other side, had to do another poem today at college, so thought i might post it up-it's supposed to resemble the poem "ode to the death of a favourite cat drowned in a tub of goldishes" in that it makes a mockery of a common saying, e.g. don't count your chickens before they hatch.

sorry, i only wrote it in 5 mins, so it's pretty rubbish=/

    Look before you leap:

There was once a young man from Hull,
Who came upon a lovely gul'
He shook his head and smiled her way,
Hoping that she would see him this day.

To his suprise, she smiled and waves,
Bidding him to have a good day.
There and then they chatted and talked,
Laughing, joking they smiled and walked.

A week later, so deep in love,
Vowed their love to the stars above.
There and then, he proposed to her,
Smiling, she said yes in a whir.

Although she was a little odd,
He married that girl as she was.
Later that night, to bed they went-
Though far away, she was soon sent,

As far as he could, he soon ran,
As it turned out-she was a man!

Let me know if it's kind of remotely funny, not sure if people will like it or not lol

    thanks for reading:)

  • poem

hey, i got set some homework at college to write a poem based on metaphysical poetry (bascially, base it on a subject and compare it to something it's not usually associated with), anyway's i wrote this at about midnight last night. Entered it into a free poetry competition-probs nothing will come out of it though.

Total re-write needed? Just some thoughts would be great thanks, and please no-one copy it, pouured my heart and my soul into it.

    Twilight

This burning globe rises above the trees,
Its rays spreading the light to all-But she
Runs for the shade, seeking afar the dark,
Running past those that Worship this high arc.

This ball of flame blinding her eyes, as to
Remove her sight-so far from it she flew.
Many saw her as strange; nay some as crazed,
But she, regardless to the dark remained.

Her skin so pale, some may say it glowed,
Almost so from a far distance it showed.
With hair so Black, a shadow it could be,
Yet Light radiated for all to see.

Twilight soon came; this flame slipping off the
    Horizon, people departed-But she
Remained-though she was not alone, the sky
Alive with light, the stars shining up high.

Smiling to herself, she danced with the stars,
The moon her guide, leading the way afar.

  • Clocks going back

The clocks have gone back this week, so it looks like 9 at night out there, when it's only 6. But; as much as i hate this whole clocks going back thing(i always forget, and wake up in a mad panic), it looks pretty damn beautiful out there right now.

Guess it's having a chance to appreciate how different-amazing even everything looks at nighttime. I can see the moon out there right now as I'm typing-looks like something out of a movie: half crescent surrounded by smokey, mischevous looking clouds. The stars in their own little world twinlking right back at you; guiding your way. It's on a night like this that you think anything can happen.

I can't help but think that's what we need in this world-a chance to believe that anything can happen-magic if you will. So; even though i may be groggy as hell with my body clock messed up-I'm grateful for the clocks going back. Guess it's setting the way for the feeling of Christmas as well-hence the feeling of magic:) sidenote: this is no excuse for shops to be selling Christmas cake in the middle of October though!

Just wonder if anyone else has begun to feel the same with the darker evenings?
Anyways, I'm off to take a walk around the block-suck up a bit of that fresh air:)

  • why i love perez hilton

I just thought i'd take the time to declare my love for Perez hilton. Every morning, i sit down at the computer in my pj's with a cup of coffee and check out what celeb goss is going around.
now whenever, yahoo news says something's been going on, i always say to myself "hell, i knew about that yesterday". Yes-this is going to make me seem really sad with no life..but hell, it makes me happy:)

Plus the guy's got some really strong views on important things, and he's spreading the right messages out there on things like gay rights, you gotta hand it to the guy, he's doing well.
(can't believe he named himself after Paris Hilton though...that was strange...) anyways,

    keep on posting, Perez:)

  • halloween

sorry for any bad speeling on this guys, but while i'm writing this my fingers are completley numb-numb from holding a tub of ben and jerry's for too long lol:)

anyways, what have we got coming up? Halloween, that's right-tbh I dread it every year. Great teenage reaction there=/ Didn't kids used to chuck flour in people's faces instead at hallowen-or was that just in "Meet me in St louis?" Hell either, way it'd make Halloween more interesting-might even bother to dress up for it if that was the case. Now, we just get greedy little fat kids waddling their way up to your door, getting their sticky hands all over your doorbell and exclaiming in deep emotion-ok, more like monotone that it;s"trick or treat". They stick their little pudgy hands into a bowl of sweets, and skip gleefully down the road-is it any wonder everyone comes to dread Halloween now?

Nope, this year=scary movie sleepover instead-no more sticking of hands into the cookie jar (ok pumpkin themed sweet bowl). Hey, it makes more sense to Halloween to me. Anyways, you never know, the day may come awen people get their ownback with the whole flour thing-now that i'd like to see=P

Mind you, am NOT watching any Saw films at this sleepover. Watched up to the 3rd one last night-scared the living crap outta me. 3rd one didn't seem to have much of a plot anyways after the 2nd-mindless violence may do it for some, but not yours truly-though Shawnee Smith, bless her heart did give a pretty good performance. Sorry, I always ramble when it comes to films-love 'em too much:)

Anyways, Happy Halloween this Saturday everyone! And if anyone wants to leave a comment about what they're doing this halloween-go for it:)

  • why i can't wait 'till Novermber 20th

Now; I know some of you will know all to well, that yes, New Moon is released in UK cinema's on November 20th-I know I can't wait either!

But that's not the only thing happenning on that day, oh no:)

    ...

    ASSASSINS CREED 2 IS RELEASED!!!

ahhhhhh! I've been waiting for this game to be released ever since I first played it's prequel-a whole year and a half ago! And i've got to say, the graphics are looking sweeeeeeet! Plus, no more repetitiveness of the first game-and even better, it's set in Italy during the Renaissance (finally, some colour for the game)!

So, here's my plan-straight after college, head down to the local cinema with friendies, check out New Moon-get some ogling done with, then skip over to Game and buy that beast of a game:)

Oh, it's going to be such a good day....

  • uni?

As a student studying at college, I now have the dreaded decision of choosing a university coming up. However; the more I look into it, the more confused I am.

Having wanted to study journalism since the age of 12, I was naiive enough to think that it was as simple as to study it a university or a specialist college, send in articles to newspapers, and then kaboom-jornalist.

Now; all i read about is how journalism now counts under the disgraced title of: a mickey mouse degree. What?! Now, I'm being told that it's better to take English to become a journalist than journalism-since when did this make any sense?! And why have these so called "Mickey mouse degrees" been created if they cannot lead to someone acquiring a job?! Apparently, these degrees have been created so that it's more accessible for everyone to gain a degree and then go on to "get a job". Why not just stick a label on the degrees: Warning, the £4,000 you are paying to take this course will not lead to a job in a likely event.

Can someone please make this simpler! In a country with less and less jobs becoming available, education systems should be made much clearer to people.

Now; I can't help but wonder if University is really worth all the hassle and debt?

  • question time disgrace

As I'm sure many of us watched the catastrophic episode of Question Time last Thursday with Nick Griffin, the leader of the BNP, I can quite easily say it was a complete cock-up.

I supported the BBC having the right to show the BNP on national tv-only with the vain hope that the parties failings would be highlighted throughout the show and people would realise that this party is hollow on ths inside.

Instead, the BBC decided to just provoke a staged audience in hurling abuse at Nick Griffin (though not uncalled for), it continued throughout the entire show, with only so much as one question actually associated with its policies. Why not higlight how the party is incapable of dealing with real issues such as the postal strike, and how to solve the recession-REAL issues?

Jack Straw only served to make a complete fool out of himself also; babbling like a guilty child with his hand caught in the cookie jar on Labour's failing's with immigration policies-and how it led the BNP gaining so much lost attention through the matter-showing he obviously wasn't prepared and also only thought the show would be spent hurling abuse at Nick Griffin. The paper's have been publishing polls all over the place-though many show disturbingly that BNP support has grown after the viewing of Question Time.

Overall; I must confess I am no longer sure now whether having the BBC show the BNP on Question Time was the right decision after all-I can only hope that the people of Britain will see past Nick Griffin's idiotic rambling's and ideals-I can quite honestly assure everyone that the holocaust in fact DID happen, perhaps Nick Griffin decided to bunk off that day of History at school. Perhaps Labour will decide to get its act together now as well-we can all love in hope.
